WATERLOO RECORDS instores...impressive used cd selection...excellent vinyl...cheap (usually)...and ya can pick up just about any local band's cd...it just wouldn't be austin without the kickass local music store. then go around the corner for some delicious (and somewhat pricey) amy's ice cream.
FILTER lucky me, i get to work with a really badass promotional agency...and 95% of the bands they have represented are bands i looove. check out the site, there are tons of cool articles and contests to win.

BRMC the Strokes get all the hype...these guys actually deserve it.
Travis they're so adorable and make some of the prettiest, touching music i've ever heard...go on, try to resist their charm!
BARSUK i know, i know...this isn't a 'band' site but it's a really cool label that represents a bunch of really amazing bands (DEATHCAB FOR CUTIE, JOHN VANDERSLICE, NADA SURF, etc) it's a great place to check in and see what's going on with these marvelous bands...
Spoon often on tour and always putting on a good show, if you haven't heard or grown familiar with the work of Spoon...you're missin on some really amazing music.
